Bella Coola to Williams Lake

I left Bella Coola yesterday and stoped first to hike some trails in Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. Around noon I arrived at the foot of Heckman Pass. There the steep gravel road starts to climb up The Hill. It was challenging drivin up there but after about an hour I arrived the top of the pass and I stopped shortly after for another hike. Unfortunately there were so many moskitos that I didn't hike all of the trail. Then I jumped into my van again and headed down the good and wide gravelroad to Anahim Lake where I spent the last night on a campground facing the lake. Today I drove about 100km further east and right now I managed to get a room in Tatla Lake which is a small community with only a couple of houses. But the view here in the middle of nowhere is fantastic. Tomorrow I will drive to Williams Lake from where I will head north.

Adrian,

Welcome to beautiful Tatla Lake, B.C. We all hope you enjoy your stay in our fair community and wish you well on the rest of your travels.

Make certain that while you are here, you make your way across the highway next to your motel and climb the well used trail to the top of the hill. Behind the fence you will locate our local cemetery, with graves and markers dating back into the 1800's. Not old by European standards, but plenty old for this part of the world.

Some of those buried here include the decendents of the original settlers. From just outside the gate, looking towards the south and west, you will receive a wonderful view of all three of our local mountain ranges and get some idea as to the lay of the land locally.

Early morning is a wonderful time to be there and gather a few photos. Make sure to come to the store and have a visit with us and a cup of good strong coffee, made European style. Our coffee is always available and there is never any charge to sit and enjoy a cup.

Hoping we will see you in the morning, tomorrow - Friday July the 11th,

Hi Adrian

As I see, you're having a lot of fun and wonderful experiences in B.C.
I really envy you! It seems that I should plan my next holiday. And regarding the pictures, B.C. might be a possible location for that.

Go on enjoying your time!
